I was thinking it may also be a solution for some of those who want to put a Pi in a box and have all external connectors on one edge without a lot of faff. I guess it depends on price, spec, and availability.
My understanding is that SDM connects to the host (display) via an edge-connector for a PCie interface; so does this mean there is now a solution to use Pi as a PCIe device ? Or is that simply a convenient connector standard, but non-PCIe ?
