There are many bus masters in the chip that can use SDRAM (and so reduce available bandwidth for the core).I do not know how ARM handles GPU. In Intel world, the Intel build in GPUs and some other hardware steal memory cycles. Is there anything similar in the Pi ARM chips?
This will include the display, the 3d hardware, usb, ethernet, sdcard etc.
