Hello the forum,

I have buy a new pi 5 with 8gb ram.
I have start with a SD card with the official OS from Raspberry.
First the rpi5 was powered by a USB c connector from a eternal power supply
A screen Wimaxit 10" connected directly on the rpi board work.

Because I want install the rpi on a sailing ship to run OpenCPN, I use a UPS to stop correctly the Opencpn and then the raspi.
The Upes is mode x708V2 with a small battery of 2000mA to permit the correct shurdown in case of power default.

The On/Off function who's work on a rpi3 and rpi4 don't work on rpi5.
I have try different config, made a upgrade of te OS rpi5, but nothing work because the voltage reducer (from 12 to 5v) is to slow at power up.
One problem.

I need also that the rpi5 must start from the USB SSD. or USB key.
So I found some tuto to start the rpi5 directly with a USB key.
I configure the rpi5 board and copy the SDcard to the USB key.
But the system don't start on the USB key.

So I try to made a rpi-update( bad idea ??) and after the update, the voltmeter of the power supply indicate 22V instead of 12V.
Bur rpi5 still working.
I stop every thing, analyses what append, and after that, it was nor more possible to power the rpi5 with the GPIO nor with the USBc connection

When I supply from the USBc connection, my power supply fall in current limit (at 5Amp), but no light on the rpi Board.
When supply from the GPIO, no raction anymore.

The circuitry near the USBc connector become quick hot.
I joint the screen copy of the ssh session during the rpi-update

So I suppose that the input circuitry are some component are in short circuit.
I have no schematic, so it's difficult to bypass or try to do anything.

If anybody are a idea to use this board powered from the GPIO or another way
Thank Youmichel
