There are different heights and placement of the various components on each model of Raspberry Pi, so you would be advised to test attaching things to the Pi 5 to check how it works with your setup.
Also bear in mind that, depending on workload, the Pi 5 can get hotter than the Pi 3, so the SoC might downclock itself to keep the temperature under control. If that's a problem for you, then adding a fan will fix it. You might also get away with using the fan from the official Pi 5 case, depending on how everything you're using fits together.
