Nowadays most users use wireless keyboard mouse, which worked no problem most of the time on the PC, but not quite on the Pi. Yesterday I want to setup my Pi 5 with a new image via net install, so I held down the shift key while power it on, but that did not work and the Pi boot straight via the internal NVMe, I tried many time with the same problem, I must use a wired keyboard to do that. Similar story with the mouse, it reacted but sluggish and delayed. While on the PC wireless keyboard responded instantly when entering the BIOS, so there's some problem with the Pi USB that failed to respond fast enough.
