I took a break from checking the power because the price of that 8-socket scale-up server on eBay scaled up to a cost too great for consideration. The next computer for the energy audit is the 24-year-old Athlon Thunderbird 1400.That's a total of 922 W so far.
In local news the power company got permission to charge residential customers based on peak power usage rather than total energy consumed during a month. Scratchy claims basic physics is not important when funding political campaigns, but I'm hoping the lawsuit filed to block the new rules will succeed.
Purr claims the new rules are purrfect because computers which are idle are below the peak load so there's no longer a need to turn them off.
In my opinion it's lucky I don't have a fast charger or even an electric vehicle to charge. I wonder if a Raspberry Pi could be used to ensure the clothes drier and hot tub aren't on at the same time.
