this guide works fine for hacking the magic3, it is based on your work, I think it easy to follow.

for the step5 there is an 2.27 espruino firmware on the magic folder of the K.I.T.T.Y repo, the toilet. This repo, the toilet one, has a well tested base for the magic, one can comment out the kitty stuff on the init file, and the rest is nice for testing ideas, it includes your graphics driver etc.
