We could go on, at length, about the alternatives that are out there. But, the fact is, the Pi is cheap for what it is, depending on what you want to use it for (which you haven't said) and especially considering the high quality (though not perfect, by any means) software stack available for it.
Other boards might be (slightly) cheaper - a few pounds/dollars - but what you save in money you will spend HOURS on attempting to get it to work just the way you want it to (which is likely to be the way that Raspberry Pi OS works - i.e. simply, efficiently and with a LOT of optimisation built into the OS).
@ame is right, also - generally, it's considered poor form to discuss the alternatives to Raspberry Pi on a Raspberry Pi forum. Which is, frankly, a little sad, but it's their forum, so their rules.
