The title pretty much says it. I have a Pi5 with a 128gb microsd whose OS works great and another pi5 with a 64g microsd which seems to have developed some problems. If the situation had occurred in reverse, the solution would be clear - backup any useful stuff off the 128gb and then clone the 64gb onto it. Problem is, it happened the other way. Pretty sure if I try to clone the 128 to the 64 it won't end well. And I know, the absolute most foolproof way would be to start from scratch on the 64sd. I can do that, but I'd like to avoid that option.
So, what I'm asking is, what's the best way to transfer just the OS from the larger SD to the smaller SD? I'm running KDE on both of them, if that helps. How do I copy everything from the root dir on the working one to the root dir on the kaput one keeping all the permissions, owners, etc., intact? (Same creds both pi's too, BTW.)
